DiGi Day in Celje, Slovenia by MCC

On Tuesday, June 11, 2024, we enjoyed a multiplier event for the DiGi YOUTH 2.0 project in Celje, which we called DIGI DAY and URBAN PICNIC!

We started with a presentation of the DIGI YOUTH 2.0 project and all our achievements so far. For those who couldn’t attend the event in person, we live streamed the presentation, which you can watch here.

Afterward, we relaxed and socialized at a fun picnic. This was followed by a TikTok workshop led by Kristjan Veber, where participants learned how to create their own TikTok videos and had a great time doing so.

We also held an interactive artificial intelligence workshop on the use of AI tools in Adobe’s graphic design programs. Everyone had the opportunity to try out useful AI tools, like Firefly 3, and discovered how AI can accelerate and enhance their creative projects, including in education.

The day wrapped up with an engaging workshop on career success for young people. Renowned trainer Gaber Marolt shared valuable advice on how young people can advance quickly in their careers and how parents and educators can support them.

DiGi YOUTH 2.0 is a project aimed at providing innovative, open, and creative tools and methods for digital youth work. We were pleased to present the project output: the Digi Youth 2.0 Policy Recommendations. These recommendations focus on five key areas: Digital Youth Work, Digital Learning, Digital Competences, Digital Tools in Youth Work, and Inclusive Youth Work through Digital Means. These areas have been identified as crucial for the development of youth work. The purpose of these recommendations is to encourage further reflection among youth organizations, youth workers, relevant authorities, and stakeholders.

Another project output is the Framework Curriculum of training for youth workers. With this, we aim to enhance the capabilities of youth workers and organizations to develop and implement high-quality digital youth work activities, as well as foster new connections between partner organizations and target groups.

The curriculum includes seven categories (topics, suggested formats, tools, methods, skills, knowledge, attitudes and values). You can combine elements from one or more of these categories to create your own curriculum related to digital youth work.

Additionally, the project has produced several podcasts, quizzes, and games, which can be helpful resources and are collected here, along with all current project news. If you want to connect with other professionals and exchange ideas, knowledge, experiences, and activities, you can also join the online forum.
